Cleveland Indians Inside Pitch 2008-06-28
C.C. Sabathia is going to make a lot of money if and when he becomes a free agent. His value keeps going up the further he goes into the 2008 season.

Friday night, Sabathia pitched eight scoreless innings in a 6-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds. The start was the latest in an incredible run by the big left-hander, who has recovered dramatically from some early struggles to once again be one of the most dominating pitchers in the majors.

Since Sabathia's first four starts of the season, and he has a 1.96 ERA over his last 13 outings. His record over those 13 starts is just 6-5, but that's mainly due to the Indians' lack of offense.

There's nothing lacking in Sabathia's game, however, and whether the Indians decide to trade him at midseason or keep him and take their chances at trying to sign him before he becomes a free agent over the winter, his price tag is soaring, and it will continue to do so if he maintains his current pace.

Sabathia has struck out 10 or more batters in each of his last three starts, and he has been so dominating that the Indians have won those three games by a combined score of 20-5.

INDIANS 6, REDS 0: The victory gives Cleveland wins in consecutive games for the first time since June 12-13. LHP C.C. Sabathia, who struck out 11, held the Reds scoreless on four hits over eight innings. OF Grady Sizemore had a double, a home run, and three RBIs to lead the offense.
