Mujica didn't appear in many meaningful situations when he first joined Cleveland, but he eventually put together a run of decent outings to the point that manager Eric Wedge started using him in more important moments.
At one point Mujica went 11 consecutive appearances without giving up a run. But that was followed by his current streak, which has presumably moved him onto backburner status in the bullpen.
In his last five appearances, Mujica has a 32.40 ERA, which has caused his overall ERA to go from 3.86 to 7.77. Mujica has been so bad of late that Wedge says the team will have to "re-evaluate" Mujica's role. That probably means Mujica won't be pitching in any meaningful situations anytime soon.
ORIOLES 11, INDIANS 6: The Cleveland bullpen imploded again, giving up eight runs in the eighth inning, and the Indians had to settle for a split of their four-game series with Baltimore. LHP Rafael Perez gave up four runs without getting an out in the eighth. The loss drops his record to 2-3. The Indians offense was led by OF Shin-Soo Choo, who had two doubles and two RBIs, and OF Franklin Gutierrez, who belted his sixth home run.
