--OF Grady Sizemore's home run Friday was his 33rd of the season, his 32nd as a center fielder. That ties the club record for home runs by a center fielder. Sizemore now shares that record with Earl Averill, who did it in 1931 and 1932 and Larry Doby, who did it in 1952 and 1954.
--RHP Fausto Carmona did not walk a batter in his 6 1/3 innings of work Friday. It's the first time Carmona has not walked a batter in a start since May 17, and only the second time in 21 starts this season. However, he did hit Gary Sheffield with a pitch, which started a brawl that resulted in Carmona's ejection.
--The Indians' win Friday was the 491st win in Eric Wedge's career as manager of the Indians. That moves Wedge past Roger Peckinpaugh (490) and into fifth place on the Indians' all-time list for wins by a manager.
BY THE NUMBERS: 33 -- Number of years the Indians went between 20-game winners; from Gaylord Perry in 1974 to LHP Cliff Lee in 2008. That's the longest gap between 20-game winners in major league history.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I was like a little kid. That's my first walk-off homer ever. Not even in the minor leagues." -- Victor Martinez, after hitting a three-run home run off Minnesota Joe Nathan in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Indians a 12-9 win over the Twins on Sept. 16.
