--1B Ryan Garko had his first multi-hit game and his first grand slam to help lead the Indians to an 11-8 win over the White Sox Friday night. Garko had five RBIs in the game, the fifth time this season he has had five or more RBIs in a game. He leads the league in most five-RBI games this season.
--LHP Scott Lewis pitched five innings to get the win Friday night versus Chicago. Lewis is 4-0 after his first four major league starts, the first Indians starting pitcher ever to win his first four games. --LHP Cliff Lee remains questionable for Sunday's start versus the White Sox. Lee has a stiff neck that prevented him from completing a bullpen session Thursday.
--SS Jhonny Peralta made his first start at third base since Sept. 25, 2004. Peralta was pressed into service at third base because 3B Andy Marte is unavailable due to a strained left calf, and INF Jamey Carroll needed, who could have played third, needed a day off.
--OF Shin-Soo Choo's 96 hits are the most ever in a single season by a Korean-born player.
BY THE NUMBERS: 101 -- Number of times the Indians have been hit by pitches in 2008. That breaks the previous major league record of 100 set by the 1997 Houston Astros.
