--OF Grady Sizemore's RBI single in the third inning Friday accounted for the Indians' only run. After leading the American League in runs scored for most of the first two weeks of the season, the Indians' offense has stalled. They have scored a total of six runs in the last three games.
--LHP Jeremy Sowers, who failed in his bid to win a spot in the rotation during spring training, is off to a solid start at Class AAA Columbus. In his first two starts, Sowers is 0-1 but with a 1.64 ERA, with 12 strikeouts and two walks in 11 innings.
--LHP Aaron Laffey on Tuesday night became the first pitcher in 39 years to get the opposing team to ground into double plays in five consecutive innings. The last pitcher to do that was Detroit's Les Cain, vs. Minnesota, on May 6, 1970. The Indians turned six double plays in Tuesday's game, equaling the club record and major league record.
