--RHP Fausto Carmona had five of the eight walks issued by Indians pitchers Thursday in a 4-3 loss to Detroit in 10 innings. Cleveland pitchers have walked 487 batters this season, the most in the American League.

MEDICAL WATCH:

RHP Kerry Wood (minor soreness right arm) was not available Aug. 31. He did not pitch Sept. 1-3.

OF Trevor Crowe (strained oblique) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Aug. 17.

RHP Jake Westbrook (Tommy John surgery in June 2008) went on the 60-day disabled list March 26. He began a rehab assignment with Class AA Akron on June 6, but he had a setback and was scratched from his June 17 start. He resumed a throwing program July 10, and he threw a simulated game July 19. He began a new rehab assignment with Akron on Aug. 4 but was scratched from an Aug. 9 start because of elbow soreness. He was subsequently shut down for the year.

RHP Anthony Reyes (right elbow inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list May 23, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 28. He underwent season-ending surgery June 12.
