RHP Jake Westbrook (strained left intercostal muscle) went on the disabled list April 22. He received a cortisone shot in late April, and he is likely to be out until late May.

RHP Joe Borowski (strained right triceps) went on the 15-day disabled list April 15. He is scheduled to begin a throwing program no later than April 28-29, according to head athletic trainer Lonnie Soloff. He is expected to miss two to four weeks.

OF Shin-Soo Choo (Tommy John surgery in September 2007) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list. He continued playing in extended spring training in mid-April.
