I'm not just rambling

I'm not just rambling
More musings from planet me:

Funk Brothers Saturday: They were the unsung heroes behind more No. 1 hits than the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys combined. Legendary session men the Funk Brothers are playing the Autism Speaks benefit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum Saturday on night. $150 tickets are still available. Purchase includes valet parking, exhibit entry, concert, appetizers, dessert buffet, silent and live auctions, and two drink tickets. For more information: events.autismspeaks.org/rocktilitstops or call 216-538-9543.

Next: Last week, the New York Times declared Twitter passe, over and kaput. I'm going them one better. Whatever the next thing that comes along after Twitter is, I'm calling that finished now. It's dead. Don't even bother. Even if it hasn't been thought of yet. Forget about it. Welcome to the era of 15 seconds of fame.

Dog porn: Rented quot;Marley & Me.quot; Spoiler alert. It's not about the dog! You watch the zany trailer and get the impression it's quot;Beethoven 3.quot; It's actually a very thoughtful and realistic film about a marriage. For the kids? Not so much.

Carbs loaded: People rave about the Johnny Mac and Cheese dish at the Rocky River Brewing Co. It's cavatappi (curly) pasta with three kinds of cheese, mild Italian sausage, smoked andouille sausage, red peppers and onions. Owner Bob Cintron said it's named after former Cleveland Indians shortstop John MacDonald, who's now with the Toronto Blue Jays. quot;He lives in Westlake; he still comes in,quot; said Cintron.

Docu-drama: You could be in pictures. Drew Carey's production company, Reason TV, is filming a documentary about Cleveland. What about Cleveland we're not sure. The film crew will be shooting a set of Cats on Holiday at Cleveland's Parkview Nite Club from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Kristine Jackson and some of hers friends from St. Louis will play at 9:30 p.m. Wear something nice. Wash your hair.

Big nuts: Planters has a couple new, giant candy bars on the market. They are 30 percent bigger than competing nut and granola bars. My question is this: How long before they dip them in chocolate?

Bobby D's world: And we're just living in it. The Cleveland Indians' Bob DiBiasio, vice president of public relations, is everywhere lately. He's quoted in the first paragraph of a Sports Illustrated story about Baseball players hit in the head by pitches. Author and humorist Roy Blount Jr. references him in his new book, quot;Alphabet Juice.quot; And he has a new show on Sports Time Ohio called Indians Alumni Round Table. On the show, DiBiasio sits around listening to stories of Gary Bell, Mudcat Grant, Woody Held, Joe Azcue, Len Barker and Joe Charboneau. quot; They air it whenever they run out of dog food commercials, quot; he said.

Everything happens in threes: Porn icons Marilyn Chambers, 56, and Jack Wrangler, 63, both died last week at relatively young ages. Is Ron quot; The Hedgehogquot; Jeremy nervous?
