Tigers 6, RANGERS 4

Brandon Inge homered and hit a two-run single in a six-run eighth. Kevin Millwood threw seven shutout innings before turning the game over to C.J. Wilson, whom Inge greeted with his 100th career homer.

Indians 8, BLUE JAYS 4

→The Indians earned their first win to avoid their worst start in 95 years. Blue Jays starter David Purcey, a former OU player, struck out 10 over 4 2/3 innings.

Rays 11, ORIOLES 3

→James Shields pitched seven innings of three-hit ball, Evan Longoria hit his major league-leading fifth home run and the Rays averted a sweep.

White Sox 6, TWINS 1

Jim Thome hit a two-run homer to break open a pitcher's duel, and Mark Buehrle was dominant into the seventh. Carlos Quentin singled off Ada native Nick Blackburn in the sixth before Thome homered.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

CUBS 8, Brewers 5

→Alfonso Soriano smacked the first pitch of the game out of the park, and things just got worse from there for Brewers starter Jeff Suppan, who was born in Oklahoma City. Milwaukee pitchers walked home four runs in the fourth.
