 May 12, 2009 (Gothamist delivered by Newstex ) -- The White Sox dropped game one of their series against the Cleveland Indians on Monday night, losing 9-4. Cleveland got to Sox starter Gavin Floyd early, loading the bases and scoring two runs in the first inning. The Indians then officially broke it open in the fourth, producing four more runs by way of a two-out rally. Manager Ozzie Guillen squeezed five-plus innings out of the struggling Floyd, who finished the day laden with 11 hits and eight earned runs. Chicago's bats finally awoke in the fifth, when A.J. Pierzynski and Alexei Ramirez each drove home a run, making it 6-2. Ramirez added another RBI in the seventh, as did Josh Fields, but the Indians had already created separation in the sixth with three-run outburst. The top of the order was quiet for the Sox on Monday, as lead-off through clean-up recorded only two of Chicago's 12 total hits.
