Indians update: They defeated Minnesota, 4-2, Sunday in Progressive Field. Victor Martinez (8-for-18, .444) and Jhonny Peralta (7-for-23, .304) hit Boston well last season. Grady Sizemore (4-for-23, .174) did not. Lee went 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA in his only start against Boston.

Red Sox update: First baseman Kevin Youkilis feasted on Tribe pitching last season, hitting .579 (11-for-19) with three homers, nine RBI and seven walks. Youkilis has developed into one of the game's most complete hitters. Second baseman Dustin Pedroia, the reigning AL MVP, hit .417 (10-for-24) against Cleveland last season. Manager Terry Francona and pitching coach John Farrell are former Indians . Farrell, also a former Tribe farm director, stopped Paul Molitor's hit streak at 39 games as a rookie right-hander for Cleveland in 1987.

Injuries: Indians - INF Jamey Carroll (left hand), OF David Dellucci (left calf), RHP Jake Westbrook (elbow) and LHP Scott Lewis (elbow) are on the disabled list.
