Indians update: They are 4-9 after splitting four-game series at New York. Laffey gave up two runs on three hits in 5 1/3 innings against Kansas City last Wednesday. Lee is 12-4 with a 4.47 ERA in 19 career starts against Kansas City. Reyes is 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA against the Royals. Indians will not face the two pitchers who beat them last week, Zack Greinke and Kyle Davies. Mark DeRosa leads Indians with 15 RBI this season.
Royals update: They are 7-5 after winning two of three at Texas. Ponson is 0-7 with an 8.60 ERA in 14 games (13 starts) against Cleveland. Catcher John Buck went 2-for-4 with two homers and five RBI in 9-3 victory over Cleveland last Tuesday.
