Travis Hafners surgically repaired should is causing him problems again. The Indians placed him on the disabled list today: Hafner, who had surgery on the shoulder last October, is batting .270 with four homers and eight RBI in 17 games.
?Hes been having some soreness and a little fatigue, manager Eric Wedge said. ?Weve noticed it in his swing the last three or four days. We dont think its anything serious.
Hafner will visit Dr. James Andrews, who performed the surgery, next week in Birmingham, Ala.
Hafner, one of the most feared sluggers in Baseball before the injury, batted .197 with five homers and 24 RBI last season. He was on the DL from May 26-Sept. 8.
The Indians will take a cautious approach with Hafner, who did not comment on the latest setback.
Hafners power was back as his slugging percentage stands at .540. With luck, he just needs some rest.
