New York - Manager Eric Wedge calls it moving it on down the line. It's a remake of his old "one-through-nine" slogan.

Call it what you will, but for two of the past three games against the Yankees, it's worked.

The Indians scored 14 runs on 13 hits in the second inning Saturday on the way to a 22-4 victory. On Thursday, they scored nine runs on five hits in the seventh inning on the way to a 10-2 win.

They sent 17 men to the plate in the second Saturday. Twelve Indians batted in the seventh Thursday.

"We're fighting through at-bats," Wedge said. "Against Chien-Ming Wang [Saturday's starter], his pitches always have good action. We've had good success in the past in making him bring those pitches up and that's what we were able to do today."

Travis Hafner, Jhonny Peralta, Asdrubal Cabrera and Grady Sizemore had two hits each in the second. Cabrera drove in five runs.

"We've been able to do it because we're grinding through at-bats," said hitting coach Derek Shelton. "This lineup is capable of scoring runs. You can't worry about what happens in eight, 10 or 12 games. You have to work throughout the whole season. Sometimes it just takes one guy to make it snowball.

"Today that inning started with Travis Hafner's 30-foot dribbler."

Big inning: Some facts from the Tribe's 14-run inning:

* According to Elias Sports Bureau, it's the most runs ever scored by a team in the second inning.

* The last team to score 14 runs in an inning was Boston on June 27, 2003, against Florida. They scored 14 in the first.

* The Indians hit three homers in the inning. It's the first time they've hit three homers in an inning since May 16, 2008, when Peralta, Hafner and Casey Blake homered in the sixth inning of a 4-3 loss to Cincinnati.

What's wrong: The Yankees have to be worried about Wang.

He allowed eight runs on eight hits in 1 1/3 innings Saturday. In his past two starts, he's allowed 16 runs on 14 hits in two innings.

"He used to throw between 94 mph and 95 mph," Peralta said. "He was throwing 90 mph to 91 mph today. That's a big difference right there.

"His sinker still has the same movement, but we could see the ball real well. His breaking ball stayed in the middle of the plate."

Peralta returned to the lineup Saturday after missing Friday's game with a sore left elbow. He had hits in his first three at-bats, driving in two runs in the 14-run second.

"I hit in the cage before the game," he said. "I could still feel it a little, but I could swing the bat. Maybe I should just keep it like this."

Peralta hurt the elbow sliding into home plate Thursday.

Sick bay: Outfielder David Dellucci (left calf) reported to Class AAA Columbus on Saturday and will go work out today. He's scheduled to begin his rehab assignment Monday.

Lonnie Soloff, Indians head athletic trainer, reported that pitching prospect Adam Miller hit a "bump in the road" Monday in his attempt to adjust his release point to avoid career-threatening surgery on his right middle finger.

Miller had just started to throw his first session of batting practice Monday when he felt pain and swelling in the finger. He was shut down for four days and was scheduled to start playing catch Saturday in Goodyear, Ariz.

He will be re-evaluated in three to five days. If he's still feeling discomfort, he may visit Dr. Thomas Graham, who performed surgery on the finger last year.

"But the symptoms have resolved and we're encouraged," Soloff said.

Left-hander Scott Lewis (left forearm) is scheduled to start playing catch this week in Cleveland.
